Having multiple pets means disagreements are occasionally going to happen. Somebody gets too close to somebody else’s food. Somebody steals a toy. Somebody looks at somebody else wrong. Before you know it, the sisters are arguing.

And then there’s Julius.

Julius hears the commotion and immediately decides this situation requires his involvement. Never mind that he’s a cockatoo. Never mind that nobody asked for his help. His sisters are fighting, and apparently Dad isn’t handling the situation quickly enough.

So Julius prepares to intervene. You can almost see him thinking, Ladies. Ladies. I’ll handle this.

Of course, letting an umbrella cockatoo insert himself into an argument between dogs is generally not included in the responsible pet ownership handbook. So while Julius may believe he’s about to swoop in like Batman and restore order to the household, we have slightly different plans.

That doesn’t stop him from trying, though. He watches everything happening with the intensity of a referee who just spotted a foul. Feathers up. Eyes locked in. Completely prepared to waddle into the middle of something that has absolutely nothing to do with him.

And I have to give the little man some credit. His sisters are having a disagreement, and his first instinct is apparently, I must help.

Is he qualified? No.

Would his involvement make things better? Also no. Does Julius care about either of those facts? Absolutely not!

Fortunately, Dad handles the dispute before Officer Julius has to deploy.

The sisters go their separate ways. Peace returns to the house. Julius stands down.

Another family crisis successfully resolved by Julius doing absolutely nothing.
