 Now, it’s become part of her daily routine. If Dad’s on the couch, that means “nap o’clock.” Doesn’t matter what’s going on football game, laptop open, mid-conversation—she sees her chance, and boom, instant snuggle mode.

She’ll stretch out just enough to make sure he can’t move, let out one of those deep “I’m so comfortable” dog groans, and within minutes she’s out cold. Meanwhile, Dad’s stuck under thirty-something pounds of snoring fur, pretending he’s comfortable too. But truth be told, he doesn’t mind it. There’s something about those quiet moments—the house winding down, Abbi dreaming away, the sound of her little snores that makes all the chaos of the day feel worth it.

Of course, when she wakes up, she acts like she’s done him a favor. One stretch, one yawn, and she hops off like, “You’re welcome for that quality time.”
