Today was one of those days for Abbi.

She started the morning bright and early, zooming through the hallway like a caffeinated cartoon character. She barked at two squirrels, three suspicious leaves, and at least one lawn chair that looked like it might be up to something. She supervised breakfast like a seasoned kitchen manager, making sure not a single crumb hit the floor unsupervised. There were toys to squeak. Neighbors to stare at. Dad’s foot to lightly chew (again). By lunchtime, she’d already lived a full life.

But now?

Now, she’s curled into a perfect little cinnamon roll on the couch. Head resting gently on her favorite blanket, one paw twitching as if she’s chasing dream squirrels across a field of milk bones. Her ears flop sideways. Her breathing is soft and steady.

Abbi is officially in nap mode. Not just any nap. This is a deep, soul-restoring, “I worked hard being cute today” kind of nap. The kind of nap where time stops, and the world becomes a warm cocoon of comfort and snoring.

And honestly… she earned it.

Being a dog is a full-time job. It takes commitment, enthusiasm, and a LOT of sniffing. So when you see Abbi napping like it’s her personal art form, just know: this is recovery. This is self-care.
