Neighborhood Watch... Interrupted: Abbi Falls Asleep on Duty
This is a subtitle for your new post

Abbi takes her role as neighborhood observer very seriously.
Her post is always the same a perfect spot by the window where she can keep an eye on everything happening outside. Passing cars. Neighbors walking by. The occasional suspicious squirrel. Nothing escapes her watchful gaze… at least at first. She settles in, alert and focused, eyes tracking every movement beyond the glass. This is important work. Someone has to make sure the street stays in order. Her ears twitch at distant sounds, her head tilts just slightly, and her body stays perfectly still, ready to respond if needed.
But then something unexpected happens.
The sun warms her fur. The house stays quiet. The street slows down. Her eyelids get heavier, blinking just a little longer each time. The intense focus softens into calm, and before she knows it, her chin lowers to the windowsill.
Duty fades into comfort.
Still facing outward, still technically “on watch,” Abbi drifts off to sleep. Her breathing slows, her body relaxes, and the neighborhood patrol takes an unscheduled break. From the outside, it looks like she’s still guarding the block but inside, she’s already dreaming. Eventually, something will stir her back awake. A door closing. A footstep. A bird landing too close for comfort. Until then, the neighborhood is safe enough.
Even the most dedicated watchers need a nap now and then—and Abbi earns hers, one sleepy stakeout at a time.
