It was a peaceful evening. The kind where everyone’s winding down, the TV’s murmuring in the background, and Dad has finally kicked off his shoes after a long day. All was calm… until Abbi made her move. From the hallway came the soft click click click of toenails on tile. A Boston Terrier blur trotted into the room, her ears perked, nose twitching, eyes locked on the target: Dad’s bare foot. At first, we thought she was just being sweet. Maybe a little sniff, maybe a cuddle.

But no.

This was an attack.

One second, Dad’s laughing at a commercial—and the next? “OW! ABBI!” echoes through the house. She had latched on like a tiny, determined land shark, her teeth gently (but purposefully) clamped around the tender arch of his foot. Not in anger. Not in fear.

In joy.

She wasn’t biting to hurt—she was tasting. Exploring. Possibly seasoning for later. Maybe Dad stepped in something delicious earlier that day, or maybe she’s just discovered a new favorite chew toy. Either way, Abbi had entered full snack mode. The funniest part? Dad didn’t even try to stop her at first. He was too busy laughing… and wincing. “What is WRONG with you?!” he asked between gasps, which only encouraged Abbi more. Tails wagging, eyes wide with delight, she was clearly proud of her new game. Eventually, we rescued Dad from his fate, trading a peanut butter treat in exchange for his foot’s freedom. Abbi trotted off with her prize, satisfied and unrepentant.

Since then, we’ve kept a closer eye on the feet situation around the house. No exposed toes. No post-work sockless lounging. Because once a pup develops a taste for feet… there’s no going back. So if you ever come to visit, consider yourself warned: Abbi is cute, cuddly, and fully prepared to turn your foot into a chew toy if you’re not careful. But hey—there are worse ways to be adored.
