Ah, the puppy days! Today, I’m taking a stroll down memory lane to share a story from when Abbi, my stubborn but lovable dog, was just a tiny ball of fur. I know many of us pet parents can relate to the surprises that come with raising a new puppy — and Abbi was no exception!

Back when she was a puppy, Abbi had a few quirks, and house training was definitely one of them. From little accidents in the most unexpected places to her sheer reluctance to go outside if the grass was wet (yes, even as a pup, she wasn’t a fan), Abbi kept me on my toes. After one too many mishaps, I decided that puppy diapers might just be the way to save the day. At first, Abbi wasn’t too thrilled about the whole diaper situation. She would give me those classic puppy eyes, as if to say, “Why are you doing this to me?” But eventually, she got used to it, and I have to admit, it was both hilarious and heartwarming to see her waddling around with a little diaper on. The diapers were a temporary solution, of course, but they gave us both a bit of peace of mind while she learned the ropes of house training.Today, Abbi’s all grown up, stubborn about the wet grass and all, but every now and then, I look back on those puppy diaper days and can’t help but smile. She’s come a long way since then — but those memories remind me of the patience, love, and humor that go into raising a happy and well-adjusted dog.
