There are moments when Julius is loud.

Moments when he’s goofy. Moments when he’s clearly just here for snacks. And then there are moments like this… When he goes quiet. Now if you know Julius, you know that silence is never random.

Silence means one of two things:

1. He’s asleep
2. He’s thinking

And on this particular day… he was definitely not asleep. Perched up high, eyes locked in, barely moving—you could feel it. The gears were turning. The plan was forming. “Alright… here’s what we’re gonna do.” He starts with observation. Head tilts. Slow, calculated shifts. Watching everything like he’s mapping out the room. Who’s where.

What’s within reach. How fast he can get there. Now what exactly is he planning? Could be a strategic descent onto an unsuspecting shoulder. Could be a perfectly timed snack heist. Could be absolutely nothing… but he wants us to think it’s something.

That’s the problem with Julius....You never really know....

Every now and then he lets out a small sound—not loud, not dramatic—just enough to remind everyone:

“I’m still here… and I’m working on something.” You make eye contact with him and immediately regret it. Because now you’re part of it. Now you’re wondering if you’re the target. He leans forward just slightly, feathers tightening up, body language shifting from relaxed to… intentional.

This is no longer a casual hangout. This is a mission. And just when you think you’ve figured him out… He moves. Quick. Direct. Purposeful.

Right to exactly where he wanted to go all along—whether that’s your shoulder, your snack, or the one spot in the room you didn’t think he could reach.

Plan executed. No hesitation. No second guessing. Just pure Julius energy.

And the best part? He acts like it was obvious the whole time.

“What? You didn’t see that coming?”
