Stella's Early Morning

Some dogs wake up ready to conquer the day. Tail wagging. Excited for breakfast. Ready for walks, adventures, and whatever else life throws at them.

Stella is not one of those dogs.

Stella wakes up every morning looking like she just worked a double shift and got home 20 minutes ago.

There’s no excitement. No enthusiasm. Just a tired little face wondering why everyone in this house has decided that being awake is necessary.

You can call her name. You can tell her it’s time to get up. You can explain that the day has officially started.

Stella does not care.

Her response is usually some combination of opening one eye, staring at you with disappointment, and going right back to sleep.

And really, I can’t blame her. I’m not exactly jumping out of bed singing about how wonderful mornings are either. The difference is I have responsibilities.

Stella has none.

No job. No bills. No appointments. No customers waiting on her. She contributes absolutely nothing financially to this household, yet somehow she’s the one who needs another 20 minutes.

Eventually, she’ll get up. She’ll stretch. She’ll wander around and slowly become a functioning member of society.

But it has to be on Stella’s schedule.

Until then, keep the lights down, hold all unnecessary questions, and please respect her privacy.

She’ll be available during normal business hours.
